Can you tell the story of your company's establishment?
Our company was established on November 18, 2011 in Istanbul. Shortly after the establishment of our company moved to Düzce from Istanbul. We chose here because of its proximity to Istanbul and Ankara.
For many years, I and our partners have worked in Europe and were in this sector. We have already made machines were coming to Turkey.
In Turkey after our research we found that there engaged in this business. "Let's do this job in Turkey, let the blocking of purchases from abroad" and we have come to our country. There were very serious concern about the tower crane after arriving in Turkey. We have seen that the materials we will use in the first stage are not produced by local producers and the quality of the materials used in the tower crane is generally low or the cost is high. We were having trouble finding these parts, but because the tonnage of the materials we requested was high, the companies responded to these demands. In the first year we produced twelve machines. In the first place, there were serious perturbations against domestic goods. In the first year we had very serious difficulties, but we were able to overcome these difficulties. After our machines used in Turkey, contractors, subcontractors, business people, our own brand 'is at least the locals said,' They have confidence and take.
How did you get inspired from this idea from Europe?
I stayed in Italy for about twelve years and worked in this industry. My other partners also worked in this sector. 2008-2009 after the European crisis has reduced our work there .. we knew that Turkey is a serious potential.
Do you think there will be a slowdown in your business if there is a contraction in the construction sector?
We're not thinking about that right now. We think we have at least 20 years ahead. Tower cranes from Turkey abroad is 250-300 units annually. We are only able to address 40 percent of the market as of now. In the future, we are working to provide 100 percent.
Do you also have export?
We currently sell almost 95 percent of the tower cranes that we produce to the domestic market. Because Turkey is still coming from the Far East and tower cranes from Europe. Our goal is to reduce the quality or price, but the price of high-quality cranes coming from abroad ... Our first goal only Turkey ...
How many people do you employ in your company?
We were 12 people when our company was founded. As of now, we have over 110 employees. The number of tower cranes we have produced so far has exceeded 90 and there is one operator on each machine. However, these operators are not employed within our own structure, but within the companies we sell and with this result about 200 people are employed by us.
What are the future plans of TGM Tower Crane?
The main purpose of the future is to create a brand that is permanent and lasting from generation to generation. After 25 years, they have to be scrapped. This means that you will not use a tower crane for centuries, and we will have the advantage of buying these cranes after about 25 years.
How much do you guarantee for the cranes you sell?
We produce the cranes we sell in European standards. In Europe, the guarantee of electricity gives one year, five years to the metal. The electrical components required by law in Turkey two years and we have the obligation to guarantee the electrical components in these two years, giving the metal a five year warranty.
